We are looking for a multifaceted and experienced Wastewater Engineer to join us in our mission to provide clean water and reliable sanitation to growing cities around the world. You will be responsible for ensuring complete and timely technical execution of Epic’s growing portfolio of water reuse and resource recovery projects through the United States. You will also be responsible for providing technical expertise to support new business opportunities and product development efforts.

Responsibilities / Functions:

  • Create detailed Engineering Reports, Plans, Specifications, Equipment Selection, and Estimates
  • Executing projects at all project phases from concept through construction administration
  • Managing or coordinating with other designers to ensure projects are delivered seamlessly
  • Knowledge of water reuse regulations and permitting pathways for water recycling projects. Acquire applicable knowledge in multiple states.
  • Preparing and reviewing requests for proposals (RFP) and contracts. Preparation of preliminary design documents and detailed pricing estimates to support RFP responses.
  • Occasionally support product development efforts from a technical perspective
  • Occasionally traveling to support product testing and provide installation oversight
  • Knowledge of instrumentation selection and function, power demands, and integration capability.
  • Assist Operation Staff as needed for troubleshooting of electrical issues and component replacement.
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications and Skills

Our Wastewater Engineer executes complex assignments relating to planning, designing, and preparing design documents related to decentralized wastewater infrastructure including wastewater system design, pump stations, water treatment, thermodynamics, and resource recovery systems.

  • Must have 5+ years of industry experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
  • PE License in the State of CA, other states desirable
  • Strong water/wastewater technical background with extensive knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, including water reclamation and resource recovery
  • In-depth knowledge of biological wastewater treatment including activated sludge and related processes
  • Onsite/distributed systems experience desirable
  • Well-developed program, project, and team interaction skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a group environment.
  • Ability to present results to colleagues of varying technical ability
  • Ability to navigate a 3D model and spatial awareness for potential impacts to design
  • Ability to read electrical drawings (single line & shop drawings)
  • Ability to read and create process & instrumentation diagrams
  • Working knowledge of Windows, MS Office, and cloud-based collaboration software (Teams, Bluebeam, etc.)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Passion to make an impact improving our cities and safeguarding the environment
